Class 9A Homework Summary + QUIZLET CHANGE

Hello class 9A, here's a little list of 2 little homeworks you have to prepare for next week (week 49): By Tuesday: find a recipe (in English) that you want to make in your cooking show and bring it with you By Thursday: finish the response to our American friends (don't forget to sign your names below the response) I am going to give you 1 week longer for the QUIZLET , so you get more time to practice the words. We'll do the vocabulary test on Tuesday 12th December.

For or Against Meat? Homework week 48

This week we read some texts about the consumption of meat and bugs. The production of meat causes much pollution to the environment (embedded water, for example), therefore it makes sense to reconsider our meat-eating habits. However there are also many reasons to eat meat, as many meat-lovers, would argue. Your homework for next week (due Tuesday 28th November) is to research and find some arguments FOR and AGAINST the consumption of meat (köttkonsumtion). Write them down and be ready to discuss on Tuesday when you'll have to switch roles and argue either FOR or AGAINST the cosumption of meat.

Food Phrases and Vocabulary

There are so many fun phrases in the English language when it comes to food. Surely you've heard someone scream "Say cheese!" when taking a photo? Or when something was easy, someone said "that's a piece of cake"? Well, there are many more: follow this link to learn and practice them on Quizlet! The Quizlet also contains other important words you should learn during this project. Then write down short situations where you can use every phrase. For example: A photographer is directing a group of people how and where to stand. When everyone is ready he screams: "Say cheese!" And everybody smiles! Class 9A: Quizlet test on 7th December Class 9D: Quizlet test on 8th December

What's For Lunch?

Today we'll be reading the book What's For Lunch , which talks about school lunches from all over the world. You are assigned to read about school lunches in one country. STUDENT PRESENTATIONS

STUDENT PRESENTATIONS The goal is to present ourselves and our school/culture in a short (2 min long) video. In groups decide on what aspect of Swedish culture/school you wish to include in your presentation. Look at the Features of Culture worksheet and your notes to come up with a good idea. Make a plan: who will say what, etc. Then take an iPad and go around school and make the video. You need to work fast, because this needs to be done today. The video should include:   a short presentation/greeting from every group member a short presentation of one aspect of Swedish culture or Mälarhöjdens skola If you click HERE you will find your group, as well as see who your penpal from North Carolina will be!
